Transfer and compression molding solutions

Experience precision
molding excellence

At Ortofon Microtech, we take pride in delivering unparalleled expertise in silicone and rubber production. Our state-of-the-art facility, equipped with a dedicated laboratory for compound production, ensures precision at every stage.

The Transfer
Molding advantage

In transfer molding, plastic material is heated and pressed into a closed mold using a plunger or similar pressure mechanism. This process allows us to create intricate plastic components with complex geometries, high tolerances, and exquisite details.

The result? Precision and consistency in every manufactured part, making transfer molding ideal for applications where tolerances are crucial.

Flexible design with
Compression Molding

Compression molding is a pivotal manufacturing process for crafting diverse plastic components. This method involves introducing pre-measured and preheated plastic material into an open mold cavity. The mold is then sealed, and high pressure is applied to compress the plastic, shaping it into the desired form. The application of heat, in conjunction with pressure, facilitates the curing or melting of the plastic. Through the interplay of heat, pressure, and time, the plastic softens, flows, and conforms to the mold cavities, assuming the desired shape. The applied pressure ensures even distribution and consolidation of the plastic within the mold.

Once the plastic has undergone curing and solidification under pressure, the mold is opened, and the finished plastic product is extracted. The curing process often involves chemical reactions, such as cross-linking, contributing to the final strength and durability of the plastic product.

Rubber
production

Ortofon works with many different types of rubber, including:
Silicone, Fluorosilicone, Bromobutyl, Fluoroelastomer, Bromobutyl/EPDM, Nitrile, EPDM.

The components are produced and controlled following specific customer requirements. All our rubber compounds are accompanied by data sheets, which cover the technical properties of the vulcanized rubber.
