From own rubber compounds to finished small precision technical rubber components
Ortofon has years of experience in the production of technical rubber components developed to customer applications
Since Ortofon was established in 1918 the company has always worked with sound reproduction, starting with sound tracks for movies, over precision cutting heads for records, moving on to cartridges and components for the hearing aid industry.
As part of this process, Ortofon developed skills in acoustics, small precision components, unique compounds for technical rubber and micro mechanical assembly. We have gained considerable expertise through the manufacture of rubber suspensions for Ortofon phono cartridges.
Years of experience has brought forward specialized rubber compounds and materials.
All Ortofon technical rubber production takes place at our Nakskov facility in Denmark, where production is set up for specialised items.
We have laboratory equipment for own compound production.
We co-operate on tooling with technology partners, including high quality European toolshops, such as DPA Microphones and Microballe and Voke Precision Engineering in Asia.
We also have partners for simpler volume products.
